TAMPA, FL – United Soccer Leagues announced Monday its USL First and Second Division Teams of the Week for the 13th week of the season, honoring Mauricio Salles of Montreal and Jeff Deren of Western Mass as the USL First and Second Division Players of the Week, respectively.

Montreal moved to the top of the USL First Division table with three victories on the week with Mauricio Salles leading the way in the two matches he saw action in.
Montreal opened the week Tuesday with a 2-0 win against the Toronto Lynx, who were riding a two-game win streak. Deadlocked at zero, Salles entered the match on the hour mark and made an immediate impact scoring two minutes later on a well-struck shot from 25 yards just under the crossbar. He made it 2-0 in the 75th minute when Mauro Biello capped a long run past the back line by laying it off for the insurance tally.
After not seeing any action in a 2-1 win for the Impact in Seattle Saturday, the striker started Sunday in Vancouver and was a force throughout the match before ultimately finding Joel Bailey for the 1-0 game-winner in the 55th minute.
The Western Mass Pioneers continued their rise from the bottom half of the table by doubling their highest offensive output of the season Friday with a 6-0 win against the then third-place New Hampshire Phantoms. Jeff Deren led the attack with a hat-trick on the night.
Five minutes after Everson Maciel put the Pioneers on the board, Deren notched his first of the game on an assist from Neil Krause.
Two minutes later the Phantoms lost Jason Karalexis to his second caution and subsequent red card and the Pioneers took full advantage.
It took some time for the home side to wear down handicapped opponent before Deren registered his second of the night in the 63rd minute on Kyle Teixeira’s second assist of the night.
Omar McFarlane and Krause scored the next two before Deren finished the night and hat-trick in the 89th minute on the second of two assists from Vadim Ivanyuschenko.
