HARRISBURG, Pa. -- The Harrisburg City Islanders have announced a logo change and rebranding for its celebration of its 10th season as a USL PRO club. The logo design change gives the feel for the old while looking forward to the new. While still keeping the City Islanders identity with a palm tree and soccer ball, the new logo incorporates the milestone of the 10 years and rebrands the new logo into the form of a soccer shield (or crest) which is more in line with established soccer franchise designs.

The new logo will be used as the pro team’s primary logo effective immediately as the clubs prepares for the 2013 season. The logo will first appear on the teams’ website, social media sites and communication tools then the logo will be phased into the rest of the clubs uniforms, City Islanders youths teams as the season opens.

“There are a number of great things planned for the upcoming 10th season beginning with the launch of our new logo,” states John Gregg, General Manager. “This is a great time to be an Islander player, fan, or staff member.” State John Gregg, General Manager. “The overall commitment from our ownership group, past players and staff, current players and staff, and most importantly, the thousands of great fans allows the team to have the longevity it has.” “I speak for the many great people that have dedicated themselves to this organization when I say; we look forward to another 10 great years!”

With an overall record of 97 x 68 x 51, Coach Bill Becher who has been head coach since year one, will continue to lead the team. Coach Becher’ 100th win should occur in the early part of the season and will create another milestone for the 10th year anniversary Islanders.

“We are excited to be entering our tenth anniversary season. We are proud of everything we have accomplished so far and want to make the tenth season a memorable one,” stated Bill Becher, Head Coach of the Islanders.
“Moving forward, the mission of our brand is to continue to provide an unrivaled sports experience for all that visit any one of our many events throughout the year,” states majority owner, Eric Pettis. “Great effort is put forth to deliver unprecedented value for all our business partners, sponsors, and fans. Providing a highly professional atmosphere is of the most importance to the organization and all involved. Our organization and team strive to create a professional atmosphere both on and off the field.”

Look for the 2013 newly designed Harrisburg City Islanders 10th Anniversary logo on all aspects of the organization. In addition, the organization has over 1,800 youth soccer players in either the Harrisburg Academy Youth teams, year round training or summer camps who will embrace social media in trying to get people involved in the process, using Facebook, in particular, to promote the logo and the club and is hoping that many will choose the logo as their profile picture.
