Game between partner clubs set for June 12 at 7 p.m.

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- The Harrisburg City Islanders and Philadelphia Union, the club’s MLS affiliate, have announced plans to play an exhibition match on Tuesday, June 12 at 7 p.m. at Hersheypark Stadium, Hershey, Pa. This will be the third game played between the two clubs since the teams became official partners in March 2010.
The partnership between the two clubs is a unique one and a clear bridge has formed between the two sides, as a handful of players have joined the Union after playing in Harrisburg, including Sheanon Williams and Chase Harrison.
“We are once again thrilled to have the Union back in Central Pennsylvania,” General Manager John Gregg said. “This game is one of our biggest draws of the season and an exciting opportunity for both our players and fans. This year’s match will be especially memorable as we welcome back two of our former Islander players. We are pleased to be playing this at the Hersheypark Stadium”
A strong second half propelled the Union to a 5-3 victory in last year’s match, while the two clubs battled to a 1-1 draw in 2010. The Philadelphia Union are coming off of a strong 2011 season in which they finished third in the Eastern Conference with a record of 11-8-15 and qualified for the MLS Cup Playoffs.
Tickets for this year’s game between the Union and Islanders are now on sale. There is NO PARKING fee for ticket holders. Advance tickets are $15 (ages 4-18) and $20 for adults. Day of game tickets are $20 (ages 4-18) and $25 for adults. No processing fees apply if purchased in person at Giant Center Box Office or Harrisburg City Islanders Box Office. Hersheypark Deal: Hersheypark offers a special discounted admission price of just $37.95 to event-goers when using a Park ticket the day before, day of, or day after an event. Event-goers can present their concert ticket at the Hersheypark Front Gate on one of the three days to receive the discount, or they can buy their Park ticket at the box office when they purchase event tickets.
