DAYTON, Ohio – The Dayton Dutch Lions FC are proud to announce the signing of Happy Hall and Jesper Leerdam for the 2011 USL PRO season.

Hall, a Bahamian international soccer player, signed a two-year contract with the Dayton Dutch Lions FC. Recently having played for the North York Astros (Canada), Gosport Borough (England), and Latest club Ma Pau SC in the TT Pro League, Happy also captained Bahamas U-20, U-23 and most recently the Men's National Team during the 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign.

"Happy is a strong defender who has been deployed at several positions. With his experience, even international, he is a gain for the Dayton Dutch Lions FC," said Technical Director Cor van Hoeven.

Leerdam, a Dutch native, recently played for Capelle in Holland and four years for professional Club Ado Den Haag. The 23-year-old goal keeper from Hoek van Holland is a great addition to the Dayton Dutch Lions FC.

"Jesper is a goalie with football background at FC Den Haag. A keeper who also has an important role when the team has the ball," said van Hoeven.

"I’m impressed by the professionalism of this club," Leerdam said. "I think the club is well organized and I’m looking forward to being a part of it. I think the competition has a lot of strong opponents. This means the competition can be tough, but when we play our own game, we must be able to defeat any opponent."

Both players will be pivotal to the success of the Dayton Dutch Lions FC in 2011 on and off the pitch.

"I am going to bring a bit of the islands to the Dayton community," Hall said. "Hopefully my vibrant personality and love for the game will attract enthusiasm and support from the community. I want to make sure Dutch Lions will be a team that the city of Dayton will be proud of. Hopefully we will become role models to the youth and give them something to aspire to."
