TAMPA, Fla. – United Soccer Leagues has announced the finalists for the 2010 USL Second Division Honors. The awards for Most Valuable Player, Rookie of the Year, Defender of the Year and Coach of the Year will be presented, along with the award for Goalkeeper of the Year, at Friday’s Awards Banquet at the 2010 USL-2 Championship in Charleston, South Carolina.
The Richmond Kickers, who will face the Charleston Battery in Saturday night’s USL-2 Championship (6 p.m. ET, Fox Soccer Channel) have three individuals named to the list of finalists as do the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, who fell 2-0 against the Kickers in this past Saturday’s Semifinal. The Battery have two finalists competing for awards, as do the Charlotte Eagles.
The Harrisburg City Islanders and Real Maryland Monarchs each have one finalist.
Votes for the awards are submitted by USL-2 team management, and finalists are determined by total All-League votes.
